Welcome to Inspired Huddersfield, our two-week festival celebrating art, design and architecture through a graduate showcase, research-focussed events, public lectures, recruitment events and networking sessions led by industry professionals and esteemed academics hosted throughout University campus and Huddersfield town.
Our School of global significance where research and teaching excellence meet creative practice is award winning, professionally accredited and research intensive. Over the last year we have made an impact on a global scale through our research in new ways of using Virtual Reality to train surgeons, international award winning students such as Laura Ensinger from our Textiles with Surface Design BA(Hons) who won the Society of Dyers and Colourists (SDC) International Design Competition 2016 and development of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership project with Bonmarche Plc. In addition, our Global Disaster Resilience Centre is to receive almost £1 million in funding to aid vulnerable regions of Asia to defend their coastlines against flooding and tsunamis and our Departmental Lead for Internationalisation in Art and Communication has won a teaching award for the Association for Photography in Higher Education (APHE) for his sharing of great practice and original ideas.
Inspired Huddersfield is an annual two-week series of events and exhibitions that will be held at the University starting with the Graduate Showcase preview on the 9 June and concluding on the 23 June following two Open Days.
